RISCI Keynote Session: Life With a Ventilator and SCI; A Patient and Family Experience In September 2013 Rob suffered a C3 spinal injury following a road accident. He spent 96 days in intensive care in Frenchay Hospital before spending a further four months in the spinal unit at Salisbury Hospital. A keen rugby player with a love of being outdoors, he faced significant challenges in adapting to his new life. After applying to university from his hospital bed he went on to qualify as a lawyer and currently works in Bristol. He has taken on several outdoor challenges to raise money for charity, including climbing Yr Wyddfa. Joining him is his father Ian, a veterinary surgeon. Ian has been a key team member in all these expeditions. |
